RPI is currently attempting to assemble a group of industrial partners
who would support the Bioinfomatics Center and benefit from having
access to RPI trained students and research collaborations with faculty.
In the summer of 2001, IBM generously donated about $214,000 worth
of computer equipment to house the bioinformatics center's web site.
This is a one time SUR (Shared University Research) grant, and it
will allow us to setup a first class web server that can perform
many time consuming jobs simultaneously.
